Return & Refund Policy

Because photography is a custom, time-based service, our refund policy reflects the nature of that work. Please read this policy carefully before booking a session.

Session Fees & Retainers

All session fees are nonrefundable once paid. A retainer is required to secure your session date and time, with the specific amount and due date outlined in your session agreement. Your session date and time cannot be guaranteed until the retainer is received. The remaining balance is due in full prior to the start of the session. If full payment is not received before the session begins, the session will not be conducted.

Rescheduling

We understand that life happens. Here is how rescheduling works for both parties:

If Deborah Heinlen Photography needs to reschedule due to illness or inclement weather, we will work with you to find a new date as soon as possible at no additional cost to you.

If you need to reschedule due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, please notify us at least 48 hours before your session whenever possible, or as soon as the issue is identified. We will do our best to accommodate a new date. All fees paid remain nonrefundable in this situation.

Cancellations

Cancellation by client: All fees paid are nonrefundable regardless of the reason for cancellation.

Cancellation by Deborah Heinlen Photography: If we are unable to conduct your session and cannot arrange coverage by another qualified professional photographer, any and all fees paid will be refunded in full.

Digital Files & Additional Images

Due to the custom nature of professional photography, digital files are nonrefundable once delivered. This includes your session images as well as any additional images purchased after your session. Once images have been delivered to your online gallery, the sale is final.

Please review your selections carefully before finalizing your image order. If you have questions or concerns about your images prior to download, please contact us before downloading.

Image Storage & Client Responsibility

Your online image gallery will remain available for download for the following periods after initial delivery:

After these periods, all images are permanently deleted from your online gallery and from Deborah Heinlen Photography's storage devices. We strongly encourage you to download and back up your images promptly. Deborah Heinlen Photography is not responsible for digital files once they have been downloaded by the client.
